The two-year MMUF Program at UC Riverside enables undergraduate Fellows to

  • develop strong professional relationships with faculty mentors through sustained and focused one-on-one mentoring
  • engage in deep and meaningful research
  • interact personally with professors, visiting lecturers and scholars
  • develop writing, presentation, and professional communication skills
  • prepare for GRE testing, graduate school selection and applications
  • gain valuable teaching experience through UCR’s R’Course program
  • experience a strong sense of community with one another
  • attend extracurricular events and cohort field trips
  • benefit from access to the wider MMUF community at regional conferences

Financial benefits include:

  • $3600 academic year stipends ($1200 per quarter) to enable Fellows to engage in on-going research
  • $3900 summer research funds for stipends or summer research programs
  • monies to cover research-related travel ($300 per year), research expenses (books, materials, etc., $100 per year) and GRE preparation
  • funds to attend regional conferences with cohort
  • up to $10,000 in loan repayment for Fellows who pursue graduate studies in Mellon designated fields within 39 months of graduation
